hey gebura you met gregor, yet? he's from the city he knew this guy who made this one database for important findings and all that and he told me to pass it around
[ They were all trapped long enough for a number of encounters to be forced upon them, but it's only now, away from the mall's altered interior, that it's possible to examine the experience from a distance of sorts. Preoccupied with just that, Yesod is making his rounds. ]
[ gebura is a practical person. there's no way she'll go to a fair unless there's some gain in it. or she has a good enough reason. she doesn't like flowers, which is fine, because bringing flowers to a fair isn't smart anyway. and don is being smart today. smart and nervous.
it doesn't come off in her text though. ]
MISTRESS GEBURA!!!!!!!!!! I SEEK TO RECHALLENGE THEE!!!!!! I HAVE BEEN DOING MUCH TRAINING SINCE OUR LAST TWO BOUTS AND I AM CERTAIN I CAN HOLD A FLAME TO THEE FLICKERING AND SMALL AS IT MAY BE WILL THEE NOT INDULGE THIS WHIM OF MINE? NO WEAPONRY, MERELY OUR FISTS AND WIT
[ it isn't dishonest. they are going to be using just their hands. for the fair games. gebura is the only one she has to do a hoop with isn't that fun everyone else can get a damn text but she's speeeeeecial. ]
[ Oh, she's just staring wearily at her phone already. Also warily. Both tired and cautious, as is her usual method of handling things. But Don is so straightforward that this is probably exactly what it looks like.
Surely! ]
you want to fight? fine i guess been a while since i did hand to hand
[Once more, he finds himself in her company, amid a new part of the city freshly opened up. You’d think he would have learned his lesson by now.
But this time, there’s a distinct lack of pursuers chasing them down darkened maintenance corridors. This time, there is nothing but absolute silliness all around, taking the shape and form of a festival and its many games on display.
And as always, Weir is here to explore — not necessarily to have fun. When he spies Gebura near, he suspects she’s the same way—too many times they’ve shared similar ways of thinking, after all—and decides to properly draw closer.]
Didn’t take you to be the sort easily enticed by silly games.
Already took you for the type to assume things without bothering to ask first.
[ She retorts without even glancing at him at first; sure, she's at a stall, but she's only got one hand resting on the counter and hasn't even picked up the (fake) gun yet. Geez, Weir. ]
There's no one behind us. Is that light the exit, you reckon?
[ What was a casual invitation for adventure into the Tunnel of Love (which Midnight suggested with his usual completely frustrating cavalier attitude — he swore that he wouldn't pull anything sneaky, and, as usual, it's absolutely unbearable that he does mean it) has turned a little more eerie than either of the two wanted the adventure to be. The darkness was fine for both of them, as was the weird heat; it was the constant feeling that they weren't alone and the odd tug against their clothes that solidified their mutual decision to pick up the pace.
Midnight's behind Gebura. Seeing as how they're on a fairly straight path, there's more danger in being followed than there is in tripping over anything. And Midnight has his hand on Gebura's wrist, 100% because they both agreed it would be wiser not to get separated. Or at least Midnight argued that point and Gebura, for whatever reason, is putting up with it. Either way, that sure is happening! ]
[ Why is she here? Why is she, specifically, in this situation with the man in love with love? One, because Gebura didn't trust a thing and needed to thoroughly explore everything about this fair herself, and two, because there were several concerning mysteries about Midnight and the only way to begin figuring them out was to keep him close.
Unfortunately.
They've both had experience with being followed at this point and this tunnel is unsettling enough for her to agree to let him stay close, his hand gripping her wrist as she forged ahead and he followed.
Romance is alive. ]
Probably. Looks like we'll be getting out of here without any real trouble.
[ This message is the result of Yesod finding himself at a loss and not in fact as calm as he may sound. ]
Have you come across the table in the gardens now accessible in the new park? I've found Netzach there, unconscious. I've considered contacting one of the doctors here, but I realize that an ordinary approach may not be applicable. There is nothing visible to identify the exact cause.
[He isn't quite sure how he always ends up exploring these new spaces with Gebura, but he supposes he shouldn't complain. If he had to choose someone, it would be her; less likely to complain, more likely to understand just why all of this is dangerous, all of it nonsense. Even things that would seem innocuous.
The carnivorous plants that rest on the shelves at each side of them as they walk through the greenhouse definitely do not seem innocuous.
One them curls a vine somewhat aggressively in their direction as they pass.]
To hell with this place.
[He says, pausing just long enough to let Gebura pass first.]
( gebura is so easy to get a hold of. angela just waits until her roommate is home, makes her a drink (today she's trying a mimosa; it may be a little heavier on the triple sec unfortunately), and presents it to her while she's sat down to relax— )
I'm giving employee performance reviews today. ( great start. ) The Bookstore has been open for some time now, so I thought it'd be good to... let you lot know what I appreciate and what I think you could improve on. Separately.
( ... ... ... )
This'll be my first time doing something like this, so bear with me. What grade would you give yourself, on a scale from one to a hundred?
[ Gebura accepts the mimosa with a raised eyebrow, wondering if this is either a peace offering or if this is going to go terribly, pausing to sip at it. ]
That depends on a lot, doesn't it? I don't exactly know what your standards are here.
[ Since it's not like she's fighting people to turn into books or organizing them per section here... ]

[ Well. It's Onni. Surely this isn't going to be like Don Quixote. She's still getting to know him, but she thinks she can safely believe he isn't going to want her to dress up to accompany him on a museum investigation. ]
[Now that the University's Halloween party is over, and doors no longer seem to be teleporting them randomly into the haunted house, Brook has ditched the Easter bunny outfit. He has, however, kept the bright pink letterman, and he puts his hands in its pockets after entering the bookstore.
He stands there uncertainly, looking around for something not immediately visible.]
[ It's a nonchalant greeting from an equally nonchalant-looking Gebura, who is just leaning against the wall as though she's acting more like store security than anyone who could recommend a story or such.
Which is probably true, but she nods a greeting anyway. ]
